All our prices are for one or two anglers meaning the total price is the same whether there is one or two of you - so if there are two then split the price in half if you are paying separately.
Extra accommodation is available for large groups and corporate bookings for NZ$200/night. The accommodation is 5 minutes walk from Spot X down river across some fields - stumbling distance, hence it works well socially with the main accommodation at Spot X! The accommodation is is in the form of a local holiday cottage containing 3 bedrooms with several sets of bunks and a queen sized bed all. The cottage can sleep 12.
Accommodation
Spot X Lodge is a guided New Zealand fly fishing lodge for trout and accommodation is only available with guiding. The accommodation is a very clean and tidy - near new contains a queen size bed, 1 single bed and one double fold out couch bed.

Prices include continental breakfasts but evening meals and cooked breakfast are as per below
- 4 nights accommodation and 3 days guiding NZ$2500 for one person (NZ$1175 each for two persons)
- 6 nights accommodation and 5 days guiding NZ$4050 for one person (NZ$1900 each for two persons)
Dining
Continental breakfasts are provided free to all guests.
For cooked meals, there are three options available:
- 3 course evening meal and cooked breakfasts provided by your host Nadine for NZ$75/person
- Eat out at a local restaurant. There is a restaurant/bar a mile down the road that does serve 1 kilogram steaks if you are hungry for around NZ$25, alternately there are many more options 10 minutes away in nearby Taumarunui
- Self cater - use the BBQ or cook inside yourself if you prefer a quiet evening
Guiding
Includes everything you will need for a great day out including all the equipment, lunch and refreshments, transportation from Spot X.
- NZ$680/day for one angler (NZ$340/day each for two persons), each extra angler NZ$50/day. We do advise however that the more anglers, the less one on one time with the guide.
- Helicopters from NZ$1500 per return flight
Catch Insurance - Optional
10% of the daily guiding fee i.e. NZ$60 - 68/day. If you opt to pay the catch insurance
premium then
should you fail to land (or hook - witnessed by yourself) a trout of 12 inches or greater then you will not be charged the guiding
fee for the day!
Licenses
There are two different licensing bodies in New Zealand. Department Of Conservation covers Lake Taupo and tributaries and you can purchase these from us on the day of fishing. Back country and wilderness fishing is covered by Fish & Game and can be purchased on line by credit card from https://fishandgame.eyede.com/public/get_page.php prior to your trip or by calling the New Zealand free phone number 0800 542 3623 which costs an extra $5 - we will use this method on the day if you do not already have a license which will cost an extra $5/license.

Deposit
Not required for bookings of 1 or 2 days. A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm bookings of 3 days or more - though this can be negotiated if the booking is well in advance or for other reasons you may feel reasonable. The reason for a deposit is simple - we are often booked out well in advance and should someone cancel at the last moment, we'll be unlikely to find a replacement booking having most likely already turned down several. Deposits can be paid securely over the internet and we will send you an invoice with a link to a secure site for payment. Payment is normally made via Paymate using Mastercard or Visa - Paymate is similar to PayPal but it works in NZ$.
