Spot X New Zealand Fly Fishing Lodge

Spot X is a self contained studio apartment separate from the main house of the owners and host Charlie and Nadine Dixon.  The lodging was built in 2005 and hence is near new and features Nadine's artwork in the theme of fly fishing and hunting.

Spot X works in association with Anglers Anonymous to provide a friendly yet professional guiding service and the lodge is entirely devoted to clients being guided to fly fish some of the worlds best trout fishing waters.

The light, roomy modern accommodation, fits in with our goal of providing a friendly - easy going atmosphere from which to base a fly fishing mission to New Zealands central North Island.

Your Hosts

Sit back in the evenings and enjoy a fine New Zealand beer or wine and talk fishing with your super friendly hosts Charlie and Nadine.  Nadine is a local girl, born, raised, and schooled in the area and being a fantastic artist can be commissioned to paint a memento of your trip if you wish.  Charlie is an avid fly-fisherman who has in his past been both a professional deer hunter and a commercial fisherman and now helps run a local power station as well as raising a few sheep. Charlie's pride and joy (other than his family of course) is his bass boat for fly fishing the local lakes for trout.

Your Guide

Your guide is Andrew Blake of Anglers Anonymous based out of Turangi just 40 minutes away.  Andrew will normally stay in the main house with his friends Charlie and Nadine while guiding you from Spot X.  Anglers Anonymous works in conjuction with Spot X to give the friendliest most professional service we can offer in order to sway you into returning again and again and again!  It is our goal to not only show you great fishing, but to provide good food and good company on the river and to give you a variety of fly fishing experiences during your stay with us.
